Undergraduate Certificate in Database Management

UMUC's Undergraduate Database Management Certificate offers an introduction to the design and management of database systems in a business environment. In-depth practice in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL) is provided in the context of business-related case studies. The program covers advanced database concepts, including database administration, database technology, and selection and acquisition of database management systems.

Supporting elective courses include database mining and the systems analysis required to begin developing the information technology (IT) infrastructure in a business environment. With appropriate choice of courses, this certificate may be completed while pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Computer Studies. Core coursework includes: Database Concepts and SQL. This certificate requires 18 semester hours to complete.
