Master of Science in Management/Human Resources

The most reliable resource we have in the world of business is not technology or office space or tools – it’s the creators of all of those things: US! Technology has pushed virtual every kind of business into a fast moving forward-thinking kind of machine, but it is we humans that create and maintain these technological systems. And without these human resources, business operations wouldn’t be possible. An MS in management with a concentration in human resources is a graduate program that teaches individuals how to be part of a successful operational infrastructure. From sales to production, every department of a business needs some kind of guiding direction. They need to know what is expected of them in terms of performance and behavior, and it is up to human resource managers to provide this insight.

Responsibilities of an HR manager might include benefit and compensation package organization, hiring and firing, and new applicant recruitment. In both large and small businesses, these managers oversee entire departments and teams of works. Professionals working in the healthcare field might perform similar duties, but with the added consideration for the legal parameters that apply to medicine. The hospitality industry will even use HR managers, perhaps to recruit, hire, and train a new team of hotel specialists.
