The main purpose of a Master of Humanities degree is to motivate students to investigate interdisciplinary opportunities so that they can learn from diverse perspectives. A Master of Humanities is flexible because students can work with faculty to design their own personalized educational paths. The Master of Humanities degree emphasizes a passion for learning across cultures and specialties. It fosters a sense of trying to discover, by answering questions, what it means to be human. Critical thinking is enhanced, effective communication is learned, and students problem solve to arrive at educated conclusions regarding currents issues. For example, students may study a particular social theme, sociology, a specific historical period, linguistics, philosophy, ancient cultures, religions, art, or literature.
