This course was designed for students interested in learning about historically significant legal philosophers and their theories throughout the centuries. Students will have the opportunity to analyze and compare different philosophical theories and how they relate to the American theoretical and philosophical system. Not only will students build critical thinking and communication skills, they will also be able to identify and assess the legal philosophies of some very historically important legal thinkers by the completion of this course. Classmates will also look at the design of the current legal system in the U.S. and understand what ancient philosophies helped to inspire it.
