NAU’s Healthcare Coding Diploma is an excellent career choice if you see yourself working in the in-demand health care field, but not necessarily directly with patients. As a graduate of this program, it will be your job to assemble patients’ health information, making sure that patients’ initial medical charts are complete, that all forms are completed and properly identified and authenticated, and that all necessary information is input into the computer.* Ultimately, the goal is to help consumers gather all of their health information in one place so they can thoroughly understand it and share it securely with their health care providers so they get the care that best fits their individual needs.** Upon completion of this program, you will have the opportunity to become a key member of the health care team in a hospital or other medical setting. Should you decide to further your education, this program will transfer seamlessly into NAU’s Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Technology.
