When one hears the word espionage, super spies such as James Bond instantly come to mind, not members of the private security industry. However, in this post-September 11 world, private security professionals have made progress when it comes to foiling espionage, which is the theft of the intellectual property of companies and governments. Security personnel must be aware of any threats of terror attacks – government directed or otherwise – and know how to respond in cases of an actual event. Since the twin towers fell on September 11, 2001, security has never been the same and as time goes on, professionals are working to create even more advanced and proactive ways to detect foul play before it gets out of hand.
