A Bachelor of Science in Business/Accounting is a four-year degree program that emphasizes the importance of strong foundations in tax accounting, information technology systems, auditing, global business, financial and cost accounting, business law, organizational behavior and management, system administration, qualitative analysis, marketing, ethics, and economics. It looks closely at modern concerns within the field of accounting and scrutinizes accounting fundamentals. Students will practice critical thinking along with enhancing problem solving skills. Communication is imperative within this business industry and students will work with their peers in order to speak, write, and conduct themselves in professional manners. This curriculum stresses formulating, identifying, and relaying important issues within a business environment. Participation in hands-on projects is mandatory and teaches students account management of various size corporations and firms. Students working on their Bachelor of Science in Business/Accounting also prep financial statements and ensure they adhere to industry regulations. Students will be able to take the knowledge associated with this degree and apply it when they occupy employment positions such as staff accountants, auditors, or tax accountants in the field of accounting. If students want to further their degrees and pursue upper level graduate work, they can obtain their master’s or PhD’s.
