A Bachelor of Science in Accounting/Government-Nonprofit Accountancy is a four-year degree program that addresses the quantitative skills necessary to compete in this industry. Students are educated in financial reporting techniques and accounting principles which local and state governments follow. This coursework emphasizes the varied characteristics of both financial and accounting reporting for nonprofit and governmental industries within the United States. Classwork involves financial statements, inventory analysis, new tax laws, cost-volume-profit analysis, accounting information systems, and balance sheets.
