The economy has been in the news so much lately that some people may even not want to hear about it anymore, but economics is a critical function of everyday life for people around the globe. While many people may think that the study of economics is all about crunching numbers, it’s about so much more than that. Economics deals with real world issues that greatly affect the populations of each country. Often, economic issues can have a ripple effect, reaching outward across the globe, from the price of food and commodities to income distribution and social welfare policies. People who are interested in these aspects of economics may want to seek a Bachelor of Business Administration economics degree. Students will be exposed to general business practices, but they will mainly focus on critical economic issues that affect individuals, groups, businesses, countries, and the world. Some of the critical issues that are examined in economics degree programs include how environmental policies can best be implemented without destroying population income, urban decay and suburban sprawl, and economic issues in developing countries. Students who graduate with an economics degree could be well prepared to enter the field in entry level positions working for a variety of governmental agencies, NGOs, nonprofit agencies, and the financial world.
