Accounting is the math behind businesses and government budgets. Earning a degree in accounting will prepare students to understand all the financial complexities necessary to function in either the business world or the public sector. Matters such as expense reports, cash flow statements, and balance sheets will be taught to students so as to prepare them for the world of accounting in business. Accountants will be required to obtain proper licensure to work lawfully within their respective jurisdictions, which usually includes the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
