AS in Management

If you want to sharpen your management skills in order to get a promotion or get hired for a management level position, you may benefit from earning an AS in Management. Even though some supervisors that you may have had in your past job experience may have shown otherwise, being a good manager is a skill that is learned. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of books on different theories and principles of management all with similar goals – hiring good people, efficient organization and use of staff, and increasing profits through more productivity. That is just part of it! Good managers often need to communicate effectively with CEOs and presidents, solve budgetary issues, and develop effective plans and strategies.

An AS in Management may have courses that can teach you all of the above so that you can have the kind of confidence that knowledge and education brings; the kind of self assuredness that companies look for and that a good manager should possess. As you earn this two year degree, you may receive instruction on organizational design and how to motivate employees. You might also have the option of taking finance courses that cover the creation of financial statements and business plans.
