Artist: Oil and Acrylics Certificate

Although there are all kinds of opportunities in new art technologies, art created using established art techniques is still very much in demand by the public, collectors, museums, and galleries. Artists who wish to expand their technical knowledge and skill in traditional art forms may be interested in attaining an Oil and Acrylics Certificate in art. This certificate will enable students to increase their knowledge and skill in painting using oil paint and acrylic paint. However, the certificate program will also deal with numerous areas involved in painting with these two mediums, including perspective, design, color theory, and more. Students may also learn how to mat, frame, and market their art to prospective clients and galleries.

Oil and Acrylic certificate programs can take from several to 18 months to complete, depending on the program and the number of courses taken at any one time. In many programs, students can expect to plan and complete an oil and/or acrylic painting during the program, with the opportunity to submit their painting or digital copies of their paintings at the end of the course for evaluation. Students who complete an Oil and Acrylic Certificate will have the chance to expand their knowledge and technical expertise by completing the program.
