An accounting associate in banking program is one that assists students in acquiring the skills and knowledge needed for them to effectively apply the tools learned to businesses and corporations. Critical thinking, evaluation and research skills, decision making, and organizational abilities are enhanced while students work towards their accounting associate in banking degree. Utilizing technology is a large part of this educational track. Computers are a necessity in the banking industries and students will become proficient in using them upon completion of this program. The coursework zeros in on developing the necessary abilities that will be required of students when they work for financial institutions or banks. An accounting associate in banking education emphasizes basic accounting measures, financial and asset management, finance investing, financial statement analysis, business writing, and investment theories. Students will have increased opportunities to enter entry level positions such as: Consumer Loan Collection Clerks, Entry Level Collections Representatives, Mortgage Loan Funding Clerks, Safe Deposit Clerks, Vault Tellers or Wire Transfer Clerks. With an accounting associate in banking degree, students who seek to be employed in one of these positions in the future will augment their current knowledge of mathematics, basic accounting, and financial services and in the meantime expand their education of the banking system as a whole.
