An associate of business administration in accounting is a two year degree program that includes an emphasis in the following topics: finance, accounting principles, economics, administration, human resources management, and business management. Students may develop skills that will assist them in better understanding federal income tax laws, financial accounting for corporations and partnerships, and cost and payroll accounting. When acquiring an associate of business administration in accounting, students study business organizational techniques, business software applications, and business ethics and law. Accounting studies, as well as general education classes and general business administration coursework, is taken to help students develop a firmer grasp of business administration and accounting principles. Many different universities and colleges offer an associate of business administration in accounting either online or within a conventional school setting. It is up to the students to determine their financial concerns, how flexible they want their schedules to be, and how important time management is to them when choosing between an online college and traditional university. Students may look forward to pursuing employment opportunities upon graduation in different entry level positions like customer service representative, office manager, administrative assistant, or tax auditor.
