Graphics Programming Courses

This course prepares the student for building visual applications and examines the good programming practices and effective graphical design for business applications and beginning game programming. Topics covered include code flow, user interface design, object-oriented programming and graphics drawing.

The class will look at the origins of the concept of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), the terminology involved and look at a first C# program. Key discussion points include variables and constants, looping structures, IF/Else statements, good layout of user interface components, user interface objects that allow the user to make selections and events.

It is very important students know the components used to build a user interface. Making use of the built in functionality of the C# components makes building beautiful and functional applications quick and easy. Knowing one’s tools and their key functions can only help one achieve a task. Therefore, some basic guidelines will make the users experience more meaningful and the applications more successful.

Course Objectives

  • By the end of this program, students will know how to construct vector graphics appropriate for game development and design graphical applications using an object-oriented language. They will also discuss visual components for user interfaces to business and game applications and evaluate the user-friendliness of graphical applications. Participants will also know how to create user interface applications that meet written business requirements.
