This course gives students an overview of medical records. Participants in this course will learn theories of medical record procurement and analysis. Students will also study methods of how to prepare medical record summaries.

Topics covered in this course will include: areas of the law where medical records are used and reading a medical record for legal purposes. Students will also look at the acquisition of medical records, sources of medical records, problems with medical records, analysis of medical records and the use of expert testimony.
